– Mechanic –

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team.
Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to keep our fleet and equipment running smoothly — both in-shop and on the go.

  • Position: Mechanic (Part-Time or Full-Time)
  • Location: Shop-based (West Point) with mobile maintenance work (Company service vehicle provided for mobile jobs)
  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment (light/medium/heavy duty trucks, trailers, small engines, etc.)
  • Diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately
  • Maintain maintenance records and service logs
  • Track and maintain service intervals
  • Travel to job sites for mobile maintenance and emergency repairs as needed
  • Keep the shop organized and stocked with essential tools and parts
  • Freight receiving and tracking

  • *Required* Minimum 3 years of prior mechanical experience (automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment)
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • CDL or ASE certifications a plus (but not required)

– Utility Installation Technician –

This position is for a motivated individual, to be part of our team for fiber-optic telecommunication construction in both underground and aerial applications. As a key member of our outside plant installation team, the successful candidate will be involved in a variety of both team and solo projects. This includes horizontal directional drilling, fiber splicing, pole attachments, customer premises equipment installation, excavation, equipment setup and care, worksite setup, safety, and more.

While prior experience is a plus, we are willing to train the right person.

  • This is a full-time position based in West Point, NE (part-time and temporary applicants will be considered)
  • No travel required.
  • Willingness to work seasonal overtime.

  • Horizontal Directional Drilling: Operate and maintain directional drilling equipment to install fiber-optic cables underground.
  • Groundwork for Vault Installation: Prepare sites for vault installation, ensuring proper excavation and setup.
  • Fiber Splicing: Perform splicing of fiber-optic cables to ensure seamless connections.
  • Pole Attachments: Install and maintain fiber-optic equipment on utility poles.
  • Customer Premise Equipment Installation: Install fiber-optic equipment at customer locations, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Excavation: Dig trenches and perform other excavation duties as necessary for fiber-optic and other installations.
  • Other duties as assigned: Assist with various tasks as needed to support the team and meet project goals.

  • Basic current technology skills, including the use of smartphone, tablet, computer, map reading, etc.
  • Ability to skillfully use and complete tasks with power and manual hand tools.
  • Physical ability to work in various outdoor environments and conditions.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen.
  • *Required – Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Salary:

  • $14.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
